On November 9, 2024, the YES Program (Young Envoys Scholarship), for which the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) is the main executing institution, was launched in Beijing. On this occasion, the Chinese Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng announced that approximately 100 Italian students from 22 Italian universities, including the University of Bergamo, which participated in the China-Italy University Presidents’ Dialogue, will be hosted.
The educational exchange will consist of an intensive 10-day program, taking place from March 22 to March 31, 2025, organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE).
The program includes visits to one of two cities chosen by the students, Xi'an or Chengdu, as well as to Beijing.
Participating students will have the opportunity to engage with their Chinese peers, visit prominent Chinese and Italian companies in the region, explore the history and ancient Chinese culture, experience Chinese university life, and participate in sports and artistic activities.
During their stay in China, the CEAIE will cover costs for meals, accommodation, transportation, and group activities. However, travel expenses to and from Italy and other personal costs will be borne by the participants.
Students who successfully complete the educational activities will be awarded 3 ECTS/CFU, which will be recognized as credits earned abroad by the student’s program of study at the University of Bergamo. To select the beneficiaries of this exchange program, the International Programs Office has launched this competitive selection process to create a merit-based ranking according to the criteria set out in this announcement. It is emphasized that the ranking will be used to allocate exchange placements only if they are made available by the organizing institution.
Selected students are required to commit to spending the mobility period as planned by the organizer and to participate in all activities specified in the program.
If deemed eligible, the student must complete any additional formal requirements requested by the host institution and request recognition of the aforementioned 3 CFU upon return by submitting a formal application to the Council of their Study Program.
The top 5 students on the merit list will receive a scholarship of €500, intended to support travel and other personal expenses related to the mobility program. These scholarships are exempt from IRPEF and IRAP taxes.
